As My-ANI is growing very quickly - 22 guides have been published in only a few weeks - it is very important to provide a powerful yet easy to use structure to the visitors of the websites for the best possible browsing experience. The additional structure and the new navigation features have just been launched and are available at http://www.my-ani.com.

From the main site on My-ANI the visitors get direct access to all 10 portals and to all the lifestyle guides within these portals. The top categories are:

  • Entertainment
  • Food & Drink
  • Hobbies
  • Outdoor
  • Personal Finance
  • Pets
  • Shopping
  • Sports
  • Transport
  • Travel

Each of these topic portals covers up to six guides - and there are still many more to come in the next weeks and months.

On each level, the user gets several features and navigation options that make it pretty simple to find your way around the My-ANI universe:

  1. Heartbeat:
On the main site and on each topic portal, the heartbeat shows up to the minutes information, in which guide when the system has published new articles and how many. This section also indicates how many new or updated articles have been published respectively. This information also provdes a link and by clicking it the user gets the full list of articles with all available options to read, forward, bookmark or comment these articles.
  2. Topic Menu:
On top of every page there is a horizonatl manu with all the topic portals included. Hovering the mouse over them they show drop-down menus with all the guides included in that section. By clicking on either a topic portal or a guide name the user gets straight into that section.
This also means that every lifestyle topic is available from everywhere.
  3. Latest News:
A list of the latest news - from all topics on the main site, from all associated guide on a topic portal or from the guide itself - is always available on the front page on each level. This section gets updated regularely as My-ANI is publishing new articles.
However, the latest news does not only include the most recent articles. The My-ANI system makes a conscious decision about which articles go into the latest news section incorporating factors like freshness, importance, quality and popularity.
And a nice extra benefit is the option to subscribe to each latest news section via RSS so that the user always gets informed if there are new article available.
  4. Featured articles:
On the main site and on every topic portal the My-ANI team is hand selecting an "Article of the Day" which stands out from all other articles in some way and those articles get extra prominence on those front pages.

These are just the highlights, there are dozens of more nice little features available on the My-ANI websites. Why don't you go and have a look? Here it goes: http://www.my-ani.com

Five clever ways to find great content on My-ANI

Over the last couple of months the My-ANI platform has been growing in many different dimensions. One part of the My-ANI team focuses on the best possibilities to find relevant content as quickly as possible. Let's explore them in more detail:

  1. Google Search
Searching Google, Yahoo, Live, Ask and all the other search engines helps you to find whatever you're looking for and more and more these search engines present content from My-ANI on very popular places, i.e. within the top ten. Our system administrators are reporting fast growing numbers of hits from visitors coming to My-ANI through various search engines and we find that very encouraging.
  2. My-ANI Search

When you are already on one of the My-ANI sites and want to search for something specifically, then please enter your search phrase into the search box on the top right of each page within the My-ANI worlds. This search is powered by Google and provides you with results from within the current topic.
  3. The Topic Menu

On top of the main content area you can find a topic menu. When you hover your mouse over a topic, another menu drops down presenting you all subtopics and you can either click on the main topic itself or any of the subtopics and My-ANI will present you all the relevant articles.
  4. The Topic Cloud

Below the topic menu you can see the topic cloud. It shows you the most popular tags. The more popular a topic has been, the more highlighted (text size, text-weight, color) it gets displayed. Just click on one of the topics and My-ANI shows you all the associated articles together with another list of topics which you can use to refine your search and shorten the list of articles displayed.
  5. The My-ANI Archive

The archive helps you to find articles by date. Initially, the current date will be selected after you click on "Topic - Archive" together with a calendar and a list of articles which have been published or updated on the selected day.

Have you got any additional ideas on how you would like to navigate through the huge repositories in the My-ANI World? We'd love to hear from you and want to encourage you to get in touch.
